The Thursday, April 8 District Spring Safety Committee Meeting will feature Police Officer Bryant of the San Antonio Police Department. Officer Bryant will discuss best practice safety measures for any school campus, when to involve your local police, and how to best collaborate and communicate with authorities to meet the ever-changing safety needs of your campus. Attention Harmony Artists!

We are looking for students interested in the “United, We Create!” Art Contest. The theme is “A Perspective on Unity”. This contest is open to all students in Kinder – 5th grade. The district office will choose a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winner along with 3 honorable mentions.

There are three categories:
2D Art (drawing, painting, mixed-media, digital)
3D Art (sculpture, any medium)
Performance Art (3-5 min video – music, dance, drama)

If you want to participate, give your artwork to Ms. Cynthia Trevino (art teacher) or drop off in the front office by May 3, 2021 at 4:00 PM. Please include student’s first & last name and grade level on BACK of artwork. You can e-mail your performance art videos to:

District Art Competition flyer-Final

The purpose of this announcement is to inform our HPS communities about changes to the Student Success Initiative (SSI) promotion/retention and retesting requirements for the 2020–2021 school year. In light of past and anticipated impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commissioner of Education has waived grade promotion requirements for students in fifth and eighth grade for the 2020–2021 school year. Notwithstanding anything the contrary in prior policy or procedure, Harmony Public Schools will comply with the Commissioner’s waiver of SSI requirements for this school year.

Due to continued loss of power and other utilities affecting our Harmony families and staff, our campus has the following updates:

– HSE-SA will remain closed through Friday, February 19, 2021.
– Parent/Teacher conferences are cancelled.
– Monday, February 22, 2021 remains a Student Holiday/Campus PD. No in-person or remote learning instruction will take place for scholars.
– Regular meal distribution will resume Monday, February 22, 2021.
– Classes are tentatively scheduled to resume Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

We kindly ask that you continue to follow all City and State guidelines as we wish all our community members a safe and warm return to school instruction.
